“To this day I have not received any support from President Johannes Steinhart in clearing up the malpractices in the ‘Equip4Ordi’. On the contrary: for more than two weeks he has not answered my questions or those of the Curia,” says Dr. Erik Randall Huber, the current president of the Curia of General Practitioners, candidly and freely.
Silence on serious accusations
In fact, the allegations against his predecessor, the current president of the Medical Association, weigh heavily in a legal opinion. “He knows this one, but to this day he has not wanted to comment on it to the expert. Reconnaissance assistance and support looks very different,” added Huber.
As reported, the medical procurement service “Equip4Ordi” (E40) is at the center of fraud investigations by the prosecutor’s office against the top managers and an employee of the chamber. This has been established, among other things, because one of the directors has passed on hefty commissions of more than half a million euros to his private company. According to Huber, this and other machinations caused a loss of two million euros to the Curia.
In a letter to the Viennese doctors, Steinhart assured them that he had “personally always acted to the best of his knowledge and belief”. He asks for your understanding that he cannot comment on further details at this time as the process is still ongoing. Huber: “The scandal must be communicated openly for his part!”
