In the customs plan between the US and China, the People’s Republic must take the next step according to the will of the government of US President Donald Trump. “China is on the train,” said Trump Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.
According to the words of Leavitt, Trump made it clear that he was open to an agreement with China.
Like all other countries, China needs American consumers, or “to express it differently, they need our money,” Leavitt quoted the president at a press conference in the White House. She spoke with Trump and he gave her this statement from China.
American special rates of up to 145 percent on Chinese goods
On earlier occasions, Trump had stated that he was open to discussions, but waited for a phone call from China. The US president had imposed special rates of a maximum of 145 percent on Chinese goods. Beijing in turn responded to 125 percent with an increase in the rates on the US input.
