Ashinag 2024 lasted 2.5 billion euros. Tax and dividends of 474 billion euros stand out for the state. The highway company invested 1.5 billion euros in road construction. While more cars traveled, heavy traffic decreased again.
Asfinag has never invested so much in the infrastructure. In addition, she is profitable and can only finance this with her toll income of 2.5 billion euros. Of the turnover, 1.6 billion euros are eliminated on heavy traffic (vehicle of more than 3.5 tons), the car drivers from Austria are up to EUR 609 for their vignette, routeto income. The majority (1.5 billion euros) is invested, the rest flows to the state via taxes and dividends or is used for interest payments and provisions, as well as the operation.
More than 250 billion euros as a dividend for the state
ASFINAG probably delivers 255 billion euros in dividends as a whole, the total surplus is more than 700 million euros. The ASFINAG board does not exclude that there is an extra dividend or special dividend because of the tense budget situation, but the decision here is with the owner of the state.
There was another decrease in heavy traffic. The toll income fell somewhat by 1.4 percent. The freight traffic, whether on the street or on the street, has long been under pressure due to the poor economic situation. Board Herbert Kasser also expects a further decrease in freight traffic this year, while other toll income should rise slightly.
By 2030 more than seven billion euros for renovations
By 2030, ASFINAG takes around 11 billion euros in hand, of which more than seven billion euros is planned for the renovation of the road network. Next year it will be 1.8 billion euros in investments, a new record.
Bridges on average 41 years old
The network currently consists of 2200 kilometers of lanes, more than 5800 bridge objects and around 400 tunnel systems. With the bridges, more than two -thirds is in good condition, the share is just as big for tunnels. The highway bridges of Austria are on average 41 years old, with tunnels it is 27 years old and for the jobs for 19 years.
To keep the network modern and in good condition, construction sites are constantly needed in various places. Asfinag Board -member Hartwig Hufnagl also asks the population for understanding.
