Some Community congregations have been the scene of several international feature films

On February 11, the grand gala of Spanish cinema, the Goya Awards 2023, will take place at the FIBES Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions in Seville. Spanish cinema.

This film, directed by Mariano Ozores and starring Concha Velasco and Manolo Escobar, was also shot in one of many directors’ favorite locations in the Murcia region. The plot revolves around an apartment building company that encounters the problem of a landlord who will not sell his land to them. It is in this area where the real estate company wants to build more buildings.

Once again, La Manga has been chosen as the place to shoot this film with Julio Iglesias. A promising Real Madrid goalkeeper sees his chance when his team-mate is injured and is called up to replace him. Unfortunately, he got into a car accident that damaged his spine and the protagonist is forced to give up on his dream. Tired of his bad luck, he retires to a seaside hotel, where chance will bring him to the podium.

This film has such recognizable sets as the Romea Theater and the Real Casino de Murcia. Jesús Franco, the director who directed this film, can boast of having directed a large number of films in Murcia. In this film, Jonathan Harker arrives at Count Dracula’s castle and quickly realizes that his host is not a creature of this world, but a vampire.

Mariano Barroso directed this movie starring a very young Javier Bardem, in which some of his shots were shot in Murcia. A rebellious and ambitious young man shares his life with Ona and Max. To fulfill their dreams, the three develop an evil plan, rob their respective families and escape aimlessly.

Carlos Saura also chose Murcia to shoot his movie ‘Pajarico’. Manu goes to Murcia to spend the summer with his paternal grandparents as his parents are about to divorce. Manu discovers between the orchard, nature and the proximity of the sea, love and the first signs of adult life. The great Paco Rabal appears in this feature film by Saura.

Álex de la Iglesia directed Salma Hayek and José Mota in this film shot in the spectacular surroundings of Cartagena. In this story, an unemployed publicist tries to remember his good times and returns to the hotel where he spent his honeymoon with his wife. However, he found the place quite changed, the hotel had been transformed into a museum built around the city’s Roman theater. Walking through the ruins, he has an accident that leaves him completely paralyzed. If he tries to move, he will die. This makes it the focus of media attention.

San Javier and Fuente Alamo became the Iraqi desert that Matt Damon fought for. During the occupation of Baghdad by American troops, Officer Miller and his team must search for weapons of mass destruction. They search very dangerous areas, but find an elaborate plan that changes the course of their mission.

In the third part of the ‘Taken’ saga, starring Liam Neeson, they used the San Javier airport to film much of the action sequences. Mills must rescue Maggie Grace who has been kidnapped by a Kosovar Albanian criminal organization.

Ridley Scott chose El Mayorazgo de Jumilla farm to film some scenes for this movie. ‘El Consejero’ tells the story of a respected American lawyer who decides to take part in a drug trafficking operation for the first time in order to get money to marry his girlfriend Penélope Cruz herself. His contacts with the cartels are Reiner (Javier Bardem), a drug lord deeply in love with his girlfriend (Cameron Díaz), and Westray (Brad Pitt), a broker friend.

This film starring Luis Tosar and Anna Castillo tells the story of a 6-year-old boy who plans to infiltrate a plane from Cameroon with his older sister to reach Europe. This Salvador Calvo film was shot between Benin, Madrid and the Murcia region. You can see places like Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, San Javier, Molina or Águilas.

Joaquín Carmona’s film is one of the latest feature films to be shot in the Murcia region. In this film, a father goes in search of the love of his son, whom he abandoned when he was one year old. The Murcian chose municipalities such as Murcia or Molina de Segura to shoot this film. Fernando Tejero, Óscar Casas, Nerea Camacho or Carlos Santos are some of the actors who participate in this film with a Murcian stamp.
