The minimum pensioner who glued himself to the golden piano during a tour of parliament on Tuesday explained his motives for the campaign in a conversation with krone.tv. “That was self-defense! Politicians are aloof while we starve…”
Together with the chairman of the small WANDEL party, Thomas had mapped out the glue action in advance. In his eyes, the local politicians are “decrepit” and they no longer know “what is going on among the people”, the golden piano is a “decadence that cannot get worse”. “I thought to myself, I’ll stick myself in!”, says the minima.
“For 3000 euros I would rather be in parliament instead of at the piano”
In an interview with Katia Wagner, he makes an offer to the president of the National Council: for the 3,000 euros that the golden piano devours monthly as a representative object, he would be in parliament “as a representative of the people” instead of the piano. So far, no politician has reported to Thomas after the action.
