The deputies and senators elected in the general elections from this Sunday they will take their place next August 17the day the Congress and Senate are assembled in separate plenary sessions opening the Fifteenth Legislature.
Constituent sessions of the Congress and Senate begin at 10 a.m. and will take place at the same timeeach with its own rules.
Subsequently, the members of the new Congress Table will be elected by secret ballot and ballot box, a ballot for which the parties usually reach agreements that can be the prelude to future investiture pacts.
To occupy the presidency will be elected the one who obtains the votes of the absolute majority. If no candidate obtains that majority in the first round, the vote between the two with the most support is repeated and the position is won by whoever obtains the most votes (simple majority).
Then they name four vice presidents and four secretariesare elected among the people who add the largest number of votes.
Once these ballots are completed, the elected will take their place at the presidential table and whoever has reached the presidency will ask the other deputies oath or affirmation to abide by the Constitution.
