EH Bildu today called for a demonstration in Bilbao to demand recognition of the Basque people “in national terms”, with the participation of the Palestinian PFLP, the Polisario Front, the Kurdish KNK, Sinn Féin, ERC, CUP and BNG. Mes Per Menorca, Andecha Astur and Compromís.
Under the motto ‘Nazioa gara’, the march will start at Plaza de la Casilla at 5:30 PM and culminate in Zabalburu.
This is the third year in a row that EH Bildu calls for “a national mobilization” in November. On this occasion, his aim, as he has announced, is to demand “an anti-fascist Basque nation, supportive and with memory”.
The march, which the sovereigntist coalition expects to be supported by thousands of people, will conclude with the intervention of its general coordinator, Arnaldo Otegi. Earlier, demonstrators in Bilbao’s Autonomía Street will chant ‘Txoriak txori’ “as a symbolic way of claiming that ours is a nation.”
