The National Council decides on Friday, which will temporarily stop family judge at Asylum -Inbouwde and subsidiaries. Direct family members can continue to apply for access, but the procedure is inhibited.
As reported, the applications for family judges will be suspended for six months from Half May, with an extension possible in September 2026. There must be exceptions in hardships, for example for children who no longer have enough care providers in the country of origin, and people whose knowledge of German is very good.
With a conditional system, a contingent system must be developed that determines how many people can come to Austria by family judges. In the previous year, 8234 applications were made for family reunification, in 2023 there were 14,032.
Emotional debate during a meeting of 13 hours
On Thursday evening the first day of the Plenar week ended after about 1 pm. In the late evening, the debate caused emotional discussions to submit an application that expressed the prohibition of the Pride Parade in Budapest. FPö MP Susanne Fürst spoke about an inadmissible interference with a domestic matter in Hungary and in particular stated that the ÖVP stood against the protection of children.
Foreign Minister Beate Meinl Reisinger said this is not about interference, but about compliance with European basic values. The majority of MPs in the National Council voted that the speech, the expression of expression and assembly of LGBTQIA+person in Hungary should not be limited.
