Economic Minister Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer (ÖVP) announced an energy law during the weekend. He now wants to coordinate the completed design for the Renewable Expansion Acceleration Law (EABG) with the Coalition Partners.
The design will be sent to Spö and Neos for the final agreement, Hattmannsdorfer said Sunday. The law is intended to accelerate procedures for the construction of power plants, storage, lines and other systems for the energy transition.
The government had originally announced that the Eagg and the Electricity Economics Act (ELWG) and the Renewable Gas Act (EGG) to implement it until summer 2025. The ELWG can be revised since Friday. A majority of two thirds, including the voices of FPö or Greens, is required for the decision.
With the ELWG, the government wants to make electricity cheaper. At the same time, it increases electricity by introducing network costs for power generators, which on Friday for hard criticism of the photovoltaic industry.
