Scary news for Leipzig a few minutes into their match against Celtic on matchday three of the Champions League group stage. Peter Gulacsi, the goalkeeper of the German team, appeared to have seriously injured his knee and had to be taken off on a stretcher in the 13th minute.
The act of injury is most unfortunate. Timo Werner brilliantly passed the ball on a reverse charge and the Hungarian goalkeeper was forced to run to get there before Furuhashi. After the bruise, he limped and stuck his right knee.
Teammates and rivals quickly became interested and the Leipzig doctor, with a gesture on the bench, indicated that Goulash failed after helping him. The starting goalkeeper was replaced by his substitute, Janis Blaswich.
