Josep Maria Ducamp (Barcelona, ​​​​1937), a well-known sports journalist, former soccer player and coach, as well as a figure of exceptional relation to the information of FC Barcelona for several decades and of tennis, his other great passions, died. this Thursday at the age of 85. .

Ducamp began his relationship with the sport as a soccer player, but interrupted his career due to a serious injury. At the beginning of the 60s of the last century, he trained as a certified coach and directed, among other clubs, Europe, while he began to develop a multifaceted and extensive career in journalism. He started at Radio Nacional de España and the sports newspaper Dicen before working at another newspaper, now defunct, 4-2-4.

Already established as a soccer and tennis specialist, he has also written feature articles and opinion pieces for Mundo Deportivo for many years. He also worked as editor-in-chief of the magazine ‘La Veu del Club’, of FC Barcelona, ​​​​​​and worked for El Periódico de Catalunya. Author of books such as ’30 years of Spanish tennis’ and ‘La era Núñez’, in the world of tennis he is not limited to being an informant, and has served as a director in tournaments such as the Open Seat.
