Yeray makes a permanent departure from Athletic for Real Madrid’s visit to San Mamés. The Administrative Court of Sport. has rejected the Bilbao club’s precautionary request to suspend the sanction that burdened its central defense after the sending off suffered in Saturday’s derby against Real. Ibaigane’s club has exhausted all possible resources to avoid punishment for their player, but their efforts have been unsuccessful.
Athletic moved again yesterday to try to overturn the sanction imposed on Yeray for the red card on Anoeta in the play that ended with a penalty for Take Kubo and a goal by Oyarzabal. After presenting the relevant allegations before the Competition Committee and the subsequent appeal before the Appeals Committee and since neither of the two estates agreed with him, the Bilbao club confirmed its decision to go to the TAD. The intention of the rectors of the Ibaigane entity is to give the precautionary measure to its central office so that, in this case, it can be used this Sunday in the clash against Real Madrid.
The statement released by Athletic this afternoon indicated that “following the dismissal by the Appeals Committee of the appeal filed against the red card shown to Yeray Álvarez in the last league match against Real Sociedad, Athletic Club has presented an appeal before of the TAD, requesting the immediate adoption of a precautionary measure suspending the penalty imposed on a party”.
The appeal filed by the Bilbao club after the expulsion suffered by its player in the derby has been dismissed this morning. The members of this Committee understood, “after carefully looking at the video evidence”, that in the drafting of the minutes written by the referee Cuadra Fernández “it was not possible to appreciate an obvious mistake, capable of undermining the presumption of truth ” related to the referee’s detailed description of the play.
Athletic had the option to go to the TAD to continue their defense after Yeray saw red, from Ibaigane they chose to use that route, but it was not fulfilled.
