Date:

The fans of Eintracht Frankfurt The German was transferred this evening by buses to Salerno, Rome and the Neapolitan airport of Capodichino after sowing chaos on Wednesday in Naples (Southern Italy), the city where they traveled and where they faced the police and caused serious injuries before the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, despite being banned from entering the stadium.

Seven Neapolitan ultras who participated in throwing stones against the Germans have also been arrested, according to local media, which does not rule out that the number of arrests will increase in the next few hours.

A first group of 300 German fans was transferred during the night and the remaining 300 left early in the morning, after moments of tension were recorded during the night near the Royal Continental hotel, where they were staying, when the fans of Naples threw some fireworks at them.

The police chose to move Eintracht fans to Salerno and Roma at the end of the game, but an attack by Neapolitan fans made them surrender until the situation calmed down.

Despite the fact that an operation of about 800 agents accompanied the German fans throughout the day, they did not finally stop them from destroying some shops and burning a police car and garbage containers.

Rocks and bottles against buses

During the same day there were clashes with the ultras of Naples, who threw stones and bottles at the buses and broke the window of one of them, moving the Germans from the Gesù Nuovo square, in the historic center of Naples where incidents happened. events, to the hotels where they were staying, local media reported.

The tension started in the first leg, where there was already chaos in the center of the city, due to Naples’ twinning with rival teams from Eintracht and vice versa. Because of this, the delegate of the city government banned the sale of tickets to German fans living in Frankfurt this Sunday.

The decision did not please the German club, who had already issued a press release against the proposal and did not stop many fans from traveling to the southern Italian city.
