Premier League players will kneel on the pitch, as a sign of rejection of racism, this Sunday on the final day of the competition.
In keeping with what happened the rest of the season, players will take advantage of one of the most important days to make it a gesture of support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
“This action is to highlight the players’ solidarity against all forms of racism in football and in society, using this platform to promote change,” the Premier said in a statement.
Video and messages against racism
In addition, an explanatory video will play on the screens of ten Premier stadiums detailing why this gesture is being made. In addition, billboards on the pitch will display an anti-racism message.
From the beginning of ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, players begin to kneel on the grass before the start of all games. However, starting this season, this gesture is only reserved for specific days, such as ‘Boxing Day’ (December 26).
