Lecce and Cremonese climbed, playoffs for Berlusconi’s Monza

Date:

On the final day of Serie B, Lecce finished first and achieved promotion after beating Pordenone (1-0), while Cremonese, 2nd, did so after beating Como (1-2). Monza, owned by Silvio Berlusconi, lost to Perugia (1-0), finished 4th and will play in the promotion playoffs, as do Pisa (3rd), Brescia (5th), Ascoli (6th), Benevento (7th) and Perugia (8th).

Berlusconi missed the opportunity to be directly promoted to Monza and will fight for promotion to the playoffs, in which six teams will participate. The winner will be Lecce and Cremonese in Serie A.

});

Thus, Lecce earned the right to play for the 17th season in its history in the top ‘calcium’ category, after its relegation in 2020. The Cremonese returned to Serie A after losing 26 years, since their last season in the same was in 1995 -96.
