Valencian Antonio Mateu Lahoz, who at the age of 46 has ended his career as a referee in LaLigawill say goodbye as an international in France-Greece this coming Monday, June 16 and valid for qualifying for Euro 2024.
The Valencian referee ended his fifteen-season career in the Spanish top flight on June 4, when he directed Mallorca-Rayo Vallecano, of the last day of LaLiga Santander.
Now he will do it this Monday as an international in a France-Greece match, at the Saint-Denis stadium in Paris, where he will be joined by his compatriots Pau Cebrián Davis and Roberto del Palomar, as assistants, and José Luis Munera, as the fourth referee.
To his credit as an international referee are, among others, two World Cups, a Euro Cup, an Olympic Games and a Champions League final.
