The 103rd edition of the Spanish Absolute Outdoor Athletics Championship will be held from July 28 to 30 in Ciutat de l’Esport de Torrent (Valencia) with more than 700 athletes and 300 clubs.
The event will bring together around one hundred Olympic and World Cup athletes and another hundred international athletes from different categories who will compete in Torrent to become the champion of Spain and thus get a ticket for budapest world cup next August.
The president of the Athletics Federation of the Valencian Community, Vicente Añó, explained in the presentation of the event held this Monday in the town hall of Torrent that they expect “very good attendance figures” in the Valencian facility, which has been adapted to have a capacity of 3,000 people.
For his part, the president of the Torrent Athletics Club, Miguel Ángel Villalba, emphasized that this edition of the Spanish championship “will generate an impact in the region of around 2 million euros, so it is a good opportunity to grow also from an economic point of view”.
The city of Torrent will be represented by three local athletes: Miguel Izquierdo, from Club Capex de Extremadura; Andrea Salvador, from the Valencia Athletics Club; and Niklas Morales, from Torrent Athletics Club.
