Vitor Roque has been practicing with the ball two months after his injury ankle. The 18-year-old Brazilian international forward, signed by FC Barcelona but it remains to be seen if he will join the Barça squad next January if LaLiga’s financial fair play allows it, he may be ready to play soon at his current club, Athletico Paranaense. Globoesporte reported that Athletico are counting on him for the Brazilian championship with just a month left to say goodbye to 2023, as his progress sees him close to returning to the stadiums.
Furacao published on its official website on Monday a photo of Vitor Roque training with the ball in a squad preparing for the match against Vasco on Saturday, which corresponds to ‘Brasileirao’s’ 35th matchday.
Vitor Roque was injured on September 21 in a match against Internacional de Porto Alegre after a tackle by Nico Fernández that affected the ligaments in his right ankle. After the surgery was cleared, conservative treatment took effect and Roque is now on his way to the final stages of his rehabilitation.
In 2023, Vitor Roque has 20 goals and 7 assists in 42 games with his team, in addition to adding 6 goals on the season with the Brazilian under-20 team.
