Thomas Frank, Brentford coach, considering leaving David Raya permanently at Arsenal and ensured it would be a surprise if the Spanish goalkeeper returned to his team.
Raya left this summer on loan at Arsenal and, according to The Athletic on Thursday, The Gunner club will exercise the purchase option from 2024 to stay with the goalkeeper as possession.
Raya is starter in the Premier League since matchday five and in the Champions League from the beginning and only left the League Cup in Aaron Ramsdalesettled between the sticks until his arrival this season.
“I know David well and I know what he is capable of. It would be a surprise if he hasn’t played his last game for Brentford. One of the things that surprised me the most about him was his mentality. If you make a mistake, you turn the page quickly and that’s very important,” said Frank this Friday in a press conference.
“It makes sense – for him to stay at Arsenal -. He came there and played every minute for them. “This is what I hope, if it doesn’t happen, we have another good goalkeeper with us.”added the Danish coach.
