Alonzo: "many more to come"

Date:

The positive surprise of the GP’s second Free Practice session Monaco is Fernando Alonso with his Alpine. The Asturian pilot was eighth in FP2, improved to 13th position where he started the weekend in the first free sessions, and showed better performance than an Ocon who struggled to find a good time (18th in FP2). Alonso will have another difficult task ahead of him now to try to get into Q3 on a track that doesn’t seem to favor his car in the very tight middle section.

“Monaco is always different on other circuits because you have to find confidence in the car. FP1 was a bit difficult for us, but with FP2 we started to fine-tune my car.” said the Spaniard.

“There’s still to come because we’ve experienced some inconsistent balance here and there that we need to adjust as well as trying to understand the wheels a little bit for qualification because getting a good position on the grid is obviously the main thing.of the weekend. Something needs to be done. “the guy from Oviedo graduated with an Alpine debuting new ground on this Monegasque track.

Fernando came off Q1 by surprise to Barcelona due to a “misunderstanding” with his engineer before his last attempt and will look for Q3 that seems too complicated due to massive equality in the central zone. Entering the top 10 in qualifying is key to his chances of scoring points this Sunday because of how hard it is to reach in Monaco.
