The German tennis player Alexander Zverevwho lost on Sunday to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final, announced his went down to the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart (Germany)

“I played a lot of tennis in the last few weeks and I reached the final in Paris, where I played five tough sets. I feel like my body isn’t ready to transition from clay to grass right now“explained the German, world number 4, on the ATP website.

This season Zverev has a record balance of 34 wins and 10 losses and has won one title, the Masters 1,000 on clay in Rome.

The German is the first seed in Stuttgart and will make his debut directly in the second round against American Brandon Nakashima, who will now face the German’s replacement in the draw, Frenchman Richard Gasquet, who was eliminated in the previous round.
