Valentin Carboni, The Marseille midfielder sprained the cruciate ligaments in his left knee during a training session for the Argentine team and will undergo surgery in the coming days, as announced by the French club on Friday.
Carboni, 19, suffered the injury on Wednesday and after surgery will “follow an adapted care protocol,” Marseille added.
Farewell season?
The club did not detail the period of Carboni’s absence, though French media predict it will take several months and may miss the rest of the season.
Marseille said only that they wish Carboni “a speedy recovery so that he can return to the field of play as soon as possible.”
Newcomer to reinforced Marseille
Carboni He arrived on loan this season at Marseille from Inter Milan and so far he has participated in four Ligue 1 matches in the seven rounds played so far.
