drugs at a party? Prime Minister under pressure

Date:

Sanna Marin (36) was once described as the “coolest head of government in Europe”. However, after a new party video, there is now loud criticism of the Finnish prime minister. Even drug allegations against the Social Democrat are loud.

A video has surfaced on Twitter showing the Finnish Prime Minister drinking and partying. The 36-year-old raps a song, dances – visibly drunk – across a room and poses for the camera. According to Finnish media reports, you can hear some people loudly asking for cocaine in the background of the video.

Marin had previously been criticized for going to festivals or clubs too often.

Heavy criticism on Twitter
Marin has been heavily criticized for the latter performance. However, it is unclear when and where the video was shot. “This video shows the Prime Minister of Finland (brunette in white pants and black top) at a private party. Finland is suffering from record high electricity prices, a shortage of healthcare and elderly care professionals, and this is how our head of government is doing his time!” writes a user.

“Responsible leader for a country in crisis?”
Sports talk show host Aleksi Valavuori says: “This is Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin. Some say she’s cool…Maybe among teenagers. But a responsible leader for a country in crisis?”

Shortly afterwards, Finnish politician Jiri Keronen published a screenshot of the video, showing white “lines” in the background.

drug test required
Valavuori then demanded that Marin and everyone present in the video take a drug test. If she doesn’t, “it is clear that drugs were used at private parties held by the Prime Minister’s circle of friends and that the Prime Minister himself is aware of it.”

“Work hard, party hard”
But not all users are outraged. One user writes: “Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin proves that you can party hard if you work hard.”

Another said: “Sanna Marin is becoming a symbol of progress and I like it. If we had always asked these conservatives for permission, there would be no female prime ministers. I am proud to show this video to my friends and colleagues. The world and ‘acceptable values’ are changing.”

announced press conference
In any case, the video presents the 36-year-old social democrat with a lot of explanation. Marin announced a press conference on Thursday.
