From September 1 – Charging e-cars will become significantly more expensive in Vienna

Date:

From September 1, electric car owners will have to accept significantly higher operating costs if they want to charge their vehicle in Vienna. This is now apparent from the new price table of Wien Energie.

In the “Tanke Start” tariff, one minute at a Wien Energie charging point with a charging capacity of 11 kW used to cost 0.048 euros per minute. From September, however, the price will increase to 0.075 euros per minute. With a charging time of 4 hours you pay 18 euros instead of 11.52 euros. That means a price increase of no less than 56 percent!

Fast charging is also getting more expensive
At faster charging points with a charging capacity of 50 kW, one minute of charging currently costs 0.250 euros. From now on, 0.388 euros per minute will be charged for this. If you charge your car for an hour, you currently pay 15 euros. In September it will be 23.28 euros. This increases the price by 55 percent.

“Unfortunately, due to the current market situation, an adjustment of the tank rates by an average of 55 percent is inevitable. However, charging at e-charging points is still significantly cheaper than traditional refueling with petrol or diesel,” explains Lisa Grohs, spokeswoman for Wien Energie.

Also increase at EVN
EVN already raised the prices for the 11 kW charging stations on 1 August. Instead of 0.065 euros per minute, EVN now charges 0.083 euros per minute. EVN currently charges 20 euros for charging longer than 4 hours. Previously, 15.6 euros had to be paid for it. Here the prices were increased by 28 percent.
