A 44-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured on Friday afternoon in a collision with a tractor on the B156 near Burgkirchen. The farmer (61) may have overlooked the two-wheeler.
The 44-year-old German from Simbach/Inn (Bavaria) was driving his motorcycle on the B156 (Lamprechtshausener Straße) from Braunau towards Neukirchen an der Enknach around 2:10 PM. At the same time, a 61-year-old farmer from Ranshofen was driving his tractor with an attached seed drill on a forest path in Burgkirchen in the direction of the B156. The farmer wanted to turn left towards Braunau.

He may have overlooked the motorcyclist from the left, causing the two vehicles to collide. The 44-year-old collided with the implement at the rear of the tractor and came to a stop on the road. The motorcycle hit the right side of the road and crashed into a tree. The 44-year-old suffered such serious injuries that he unfortunately died on the spot. The B156 was closed to all traffic until 4.20 pm. A local diversion has been set up.
