Iran’s parliament met this Sunday behind closed doors to discuss the social crisis the country is experiencing following the death of a woman after being arrested for wearing the veil incorrectly.
Before closing the doors, the Speaker of Parliament, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, acknowledged that the purpose of this session is to changing the ways and behavior of the religious police Iranian.

Since Amini died on September 16, there have been violent protests in many cities across the country calling for greater freedoms. Protesters shout slogans against the country’s theocratic system, hundreds have been arrested and, according to Iran’s state television, they have caused 41 deaths, a number that the NGOs increase to 83.
