Tuesday morning there was a violent collision between two cars in Sankt Veit in South Styria (district of Leibnitz). Both drivers were seriously injured.
At around 6:20 a.m., a 20-year-old from the Leibnitz district drove a car on the L 208 from Radkersburg towards Vogau. According to witnesses, he should have overtaken at least two vehicles near Perbersdorf. As a result, he collided head-on with an oncoming car, driven by an 18-year-old from the Southeastern Styrian district.
Thrown on a bike path
The force of the collision threw the 18-year-old’s car onto an adjacent bike path and came to rest on its roof.
Both drivers were trapped in the vehicles and were seriously injured. The fire brigades present rescued them from the totally damaged vehicles. After first aid, the injured were admitted to the LKH Graz. The L 208 was blocked from 06:30 to 09:20 in the area of the accident site.
