Volkswagen Navarra will increase staff salaries by 6.1% in 2023 following the agreement reached with the unions, who signed an increase linked to the CPI plus a further 0.4%, as foreseen in the company agreement for the years 2018-2023.
In a statement, the union section of CCOO points out that the agreement is “exemplary” as it “prevents a decline in the purchasing power of the workers at the Landaben factory”.
Carlos Zalduendosecretary general of the CCOO of Navarra at Volkswagen, emphasizes that this increase “is the result of the bargaining and dialogue capacity of this union, the sole signatory of the company agreement together with UGT“.
“Unfortunately few templates have seen the price of life drop in their salary and we achieved that here,” he says.
ERTE
In the same meeting where the salary increase was agreed, the talks about the ERTE that the management will request in the event that production is again jeopardized by the lack of semiconductors.
CCOO suggests exhausting all possibilities before going to ERTE, including staff training as a possible measure against another possible production stop.
