Caroline Sasaki had just moved into the two-story house at the bottom of a hill in Honolulu with her family of three in early January. She felt very comfortable there – until now: she was on her way to the living room on the 1st floor when a six-foot-long stone crashed through the wall.
The stone had broken off further up the mountain and rolled down the slope. There he thundered through the living room into the guest room of the 65-year-old. The strip of desolation is mighty. Caroline might not have survived if she had been in the room half a second earlier. A camera filmed the incident.
“I have not yet seen the video and do not want to see it,” the shocked woman explains. Now authorities are investigating how the stone came loose. Sasaki believes construction work on the hill above her home has got the ball rolling.
