It happened on Monday and the public will be informed on Friday: a Syrian asylum seeker is said to have attacked a compatriot in Wels first with a metal bar and then with a knife. The suspect is in custody.
At 8:20 pm on May 15, a police patrol from Wels was sent to an asylum seekers’ center in Wels because of a knife fight going on there. The two asylum seekers, a 26-year-old and a 19-year-old (both Syrian citizens), had previously gotten into an argument, with the 26-year-old hitting his opponent with a metal bar. However, the 19-year-old managed to avoid it.
The 19-year-old man suffered cuts to his forearm
The 26-year-old then pulled out a kitchen knife and attacked the 19-year-old. The 19-year-old suffered a cut to his left forearm. The injured man and another shelter weaver were eventually able to disarm the 26-year-old. The suspect has been arrested by the police.
The opponent is now stuck
The 19-year-old was admitted to the Wels-Grieskirchen clinic. Wels’s prosecutor’s office ordered the 26-year-old’s imprisonment.
