A motorist was very lucky on Wednesday who drove his pick-up and a trailer – loaded with stone slabs – on the A2 towards Klagenfurt.
Shortly before the Assingberg tunnel, he and his team left the road on the right and slid along the dike. After more than 100 meters, the vehicle came to a stop on its roof. The driver was able to free himself through the rear door on the driver’s side. Ambulance personnel from Klagenfurt, who were on their way to the station in their ambulance, were the first to arrive.
The emergency services of the Mooskirchen and Steinberg fire brigades have secured the site and cleared the way of the stoneware lying around. The vehicle involved in the accident was towed by a towing company. The slightly injured driver was treated on the spot by the Red Cross and then taken to hospital.
