“Breathing not good” – After surgery: Pope complains about side effects of anesthesia

Date:

After his bowel surgery, Pope Francis complains about the side effects of anesthesia. “I am still under anesthesia, my breathing is not good,” Pope Francis said during an audience in Rome on Thursday.

The 86-year-old head of the Catholic Church was operated on two weeks ago for a hernia in the intestine. The surgery was to prevent a bowel obstruction. The operation took about three hours.

Concerns about the Pope’s health
The bowel surgery has raised new concerns about the health of the Argentine, who celebrated the tenth anniversary of his pontificate on March 13 and has been struggling with health problems for some time.

At the end of March, Francis had to undergo clinical treatment for pneumonia. He then spent three days in the hospital. Due to his knee problems, he often has to come to appointments in a wheelchair.
