Criminal organization – police warn: “Wrong officials” on the road in Vienna

Date:

The Viennese police warn of six unknown men suspected of falsely posing as police officers. The suspects are said to have robbed four female victims between the ages of 82 and 86 of their assets. A ghost image of one of the alleged perpetrators has now been published. The police ask for information.

The approach of the criminal organization would have been similar in all four cases: a man who did not know the victims called and pretended to be a police officer who staged a dangerous scenario in the form of an imminent burglary.

“Police colleague” helped secure assets
To secure their belongings, the victims were informed of a “police colleague”, who then identified himself at the scene with an apparently forged police ID. They were asked to hand over their valuables and all their cash into the safe hands of the police for the time being.

Perpetrator had the lady empty her safe at the bank
According to the Viennese police, some women were driven to their banks to withdraw money or to clear their safes. A victim was convinced that accomplices of the “criminals” work at the bank and that their assets, which were stored in a safe there, were also at risk. After the transfer, the suspect left with the transferred loot.

All of these incidents are said to have taken place in April.

A phantom image (see image above) of one of the alleged perpetrators has now been published by the headquarters of the Vienna State Police. Police are now asking the public for help. Relevant information (also anonymous) is requested from the Vienna Criminal Investigation Department on telephone number 01-31310 extension 33800 or 33801.
