A man saw several men in his garden in Vienna-Penzing on Sunday evening. Apparently they wanted to break into the house. He immediately made an emergency call. After a short chase with the police, the perpetrators were caught.
There was another collapse in Vienna over the weekend. But this time in a residential area. The incident happened in the middle of the night. The resident was quite shocked when he saw two figures in his garden. The two men wanted to break into his home. The resident alerted the police.
The perpetrators fled
When the police officers arrived at the property, the two perpetrators ran away. The officers give chase on foot and in a patrol car. The emergency services managed to stop the two fugitives and detain them for the time being.
Bag of burglary tools found
It later turned out that an apartment had been broken into through a window. It is unknown at this time if any items were stolen. Gloves and a bag containing burglary tools were found at the crime scene and seized.
The Viennese Criminal Investigation Department, West Department, has taken over the investigation. Interrogations of those arrested are still ongoing.
