Unusual accumulation of chlorine gas leaks in Upper Austria! Incidents occurred in Lambach and Grieskirchen on Friday. A total of three people were injured. There were even evacuations.
At around 10:20 p.m., a technical defect led to a chlorine gas leak in the Lambach outdoor pool. Four fire brigades were deployed. The area around it (about 300 meters) had to be evacuated on a large scale and the local residents had to be brought to safety. All was clear around 12:30 p.m. and the area was released again. One person had to be admitted to the Wels Clinic on suspicion of chlorine gas poisoning.
Incident also in Grieskirchen
Shortly before, a similar incident had occurred in Grieskirchen. The fire brigade was alerted around 9 p.m. after a chlorine leak had previously occurred in the technical room of the outdoor pool. The exit was already blocked by those present. The fire service has taken measurements and ventilated the affected building. The two people present were treated by the emergency services and taken to the Grieskirchen Kliniek.
