Double alarm – fire in Messi’s apartment calls for emergency services

Date:

Large-scale operation shortly before midnight in Wiener Neustadt! Eight people were injured in a devastating house fire in the country’s second-largest city. In St. Pölten, the fire brigade also had to move to an apartment building to extinguish the fire.

Alarm bells went off in Wiener Neustadt on Friday evening: a fire broke out on the second floor of a residential building near the airport. “Because all rooms were heavily littered, the flames could spread quickly,” reports the fire service. In addition, the fire threatened to spread to the roof construction, but the emergency services managed to prevent this with a targeted attack from inside and outside.

Resident and cat rescued from Inferno
Several residents had to be evacuated outside with escape masks. Due to the heavy smoke development, a total of eight people had to be taken to hospital with symptoms of poisoning. A cat was also rescued from the inferno.

Great alarm also in St. Pölten
A similar incident had already occurred in the evening in St. Pölten. A fire broke out on a balcony on the second floor of an apartment building. Police officers on the nearby Frequency property noticed the black column of smoke and alerted their colleagues. When officers arrived on scene, the flames had already spread to the upper floor.

Armed with fire extinguishers, they stormed to the scene of the fire as the occupants of the house fled outside. The apartment owner, a mother with two small children, had not noticed the fire and was informed by neighbors just in time. The apartment above had to be broken open by the police with a battering ram. A large contingent of rescue workers was deployed.
