Pedro, member of ‘Erde Brennt’, is furious: ‘It is impossible for Haslauer to tell us before the election that there will be no price increases and that once the election is over gas prices will double. While this government is raising salaries nicely, we are all allowed to pay more now. They want to fool us! Effective measures against inflation are now finally needed,” says the student.
“A radical system change is needed”
“If we really want to do something about this inflation, we need to understand where they come from. And right now this is becoming clearly visible again: from our fossil dependence. Not only are we exacerbating the climate crisis and financing the Russian war of aggression, we are also driving up our prices,” Max agrees. The activists call for “radical climate protection and a systemic change”.
