In the district of Mistelbach (Lower Austria), a 56-year-old was run over by his tractor on Thursday afternoon. The man subsequently succumbed to his serious injuries in hospital.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m., the affected person was standing on the rear wheel working on the vehicle and eventually started the engine. The tractor probably started moving immediately. The 56-year-old fell to the ground and was run over.

Witnesses saw the accident happen and immediately alerted the emergency services. After receiving initial care, the 56-year-old taken to the Mistelbach State Hospital. Apparently the injuries were too serious, because the man died in hospital.
