A fatal mistake almost cost the life of a young man from Linz on Tuesday afternoon. The pedestrian let a tram pass in the Ebelsberg district, but overlooked a second one. The 21-year-old was hit and thrown to the ground. He suffered serious head injuries in the accident.
At 4:35 p.m., the 21-year-old crossed the tram line on Ennsfeldstrasse at the intersection with Traklweg on foot. After letting the tram pass in the direction outside the city, he climbed onto the track and looked over the tram heading towards the city at the oncoming traffic.
Taken to hospital
The 21-year-old was hit by the equipment and thrown to the ground. He was admitted to Med Campus III with serious head injuries.
