The fatal dog bite occurred on Monday around 9:15 am in Naarn. The dog owner, a 37-year-old, was driving along a freight road with one or more dogs. At the same time, a 60-year-old was jogging on the dirt path in question. For unknown reasons, the American Staffordshire attacked the jogger as she walked by. According to initial investigations, the dog owner tried to pull the dog or dogs away from the jogger, but was unsuccessful.
Multiple bite wounds
The 60-year-old suffered multiple bite wounds. Tragically, the emergency physician who was called could only determine death. Because the woman who died in the accident did not have a mobile phone or documents with her, her identity could not be established beyond doubt for the time being. The dog owner suffered injuries of an unknown nature when she tried to pull her dog or dogs away and had to be taken to hospital.
Apparently executed without a snout
The responsible BH Perg and the official veterinarian have been informed of this and the dog in question has been euthanized on behalf of the BH Perg in consultation with the official veterinarians. Based on previous investigations, it is likely that the dog owner had her dog or dogs on a leash, but it is unlikely that they were wearing a muzzle. The investigation is still ongoing because the injured dog owner has not yet been interviewed. The Linz public prosecutor has ordered an autopsy on the deceased woman.
