The countdown for the 91st general meeting of police organization Interpol is in the red zone. Next week Vienna will be expanded into a true fortress. The Federal Criminal Police has been preparing the process for three years, heavily secured convoys, etc. The “Krone” knows the details.
It is a “homecoming” of a very special and explosive kind, which will take place next week at the Vienna Austria Center (ACV). Interpol is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and will therefore meet in its actual birthplace for the 91st General Assembly. The criminal police organization was founded in 1923 in the country’s federal capital and is now a globally active association with currently 195 member states and based in Lyon, France.
1,500 participants and around 800 police officers and employees of the executive branch, who work for their safety every day, will transform the area around UNO City into a real high security zone. The federal criminal investigation service has been planning procedures, barriers, blue light convoys and the deployment of special teams such as explosive dogs and EKO Cobra for three years.
