Five people were injured, some seriously, in a serious head-on collision in the Amstetten district of Lower Austria. A father and his seven-year-old child were trapped in the vehicle during the accident and were freed.
A head-on collision on Sunday afternoon on the B1 near Hermannsdorf in the Amstetten district required a large contingent of emergency services around 11:30 am. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided head-on.
Mother freed herself
A father and his seven-year-old child were trapped in the car. The two had to be rescued by rescuers. The mother, who was also in the car, was able to free herself.
Rescue helicopter in action
A total of five people were injured in the accident, some seriously. Four emergency physicians, two rescue helicopters and three fire brigades were deployed to the scene to free and treat the occupants of the vehicle as quickly as possible. The injured were taken to hospitals. The clean-up work continued.
