Two men were killed by robbers in the Tyrolean capital on Friday evening. In both cases, the perpetrators stole money and the victim’s mobile phone. The police have not ruled out that the attacks are related.
The first robbery took place on Friday around 12.30 pm in Salurner Strasse. The victim was a 29-year-old Hungarian. A previously unknown perpetrator hit the man in the face with his hand, injuring him, and then took not only his mobile phone, but also more than 100 euros in cash. The unknown man then fled.
Shortly afterwards, a similar scene took place on nearby Erler Strasse. There, a 39-year-old local resident wanted to withdraw money when unknown people came up to him and also hit him in the face. The robbers took the stolen money – more than a hundred euros – and also stole the victim’s mobile phone. They then fled, leaving the 39-year-old injured.

As the police announced in response to a ‘Krone’ request, it cannot currently be ruled out that both attacks were committed by the same perpetrators; the local proximity and similar modus operandi would also suggest this. According to the police, an investigation into this is ongoing.
