There is currently not a day without a report of an earthquake in Tyrol. After reports of earthquakes were recorded almost daily in the Kitzbühel district, this time it was the turn of the Ausserfern. A magnitude of 3.6 was measured there at 00:06 on Saturday.

As seismologist Nikolaus Horn from GeoSphere Austria explains, the earthquake was clearly felt by the population in the Ehrwald area of ​​Tyrol. And further: “At this size, there may be minor damage in isolated cases, such as hairline cracks in the plaster; More serious damage is not expected at this level.”

Series on the border with Salzburg
Recently, more than 60 measurable earthquakes were measured on the border with Salzburg. In many cases the population was able to observe this themselves. The earthquake service recently stated that the series in the Pillerseetal could continue for “several days”.
