Algeria freezes all foreign trade with Spain after breaking friendship treaty

The decision came into effect this Thursday. However, Spain’s foreign minister has assured that the Algerian government has provided “guarantees” as a “trustworthy” partner and supplier in matters such as migration or gas.

The Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABEF) of Algeria has ordered the freezing of all foreign trade transactions to and from Spain as of this Thursday. The decision came after suspend Algeria’s friendship treaty with Spain for his spin on Western Sahara and his support for Morocco’s autonomy plan.

“The Algerian government is known as a reliable partner, a reliable supplier Guarantees have been given at the highest level and there is no indication that it will be any different,” the minister replied.
