A 76-year-old driver skidded his car in Vienna-Mariahilf on Friday afternoon. The car ended up on the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian. The 83-year-old was seriously injured.
The 76-year-old apparently crashed into a 34-year-old car traveling in the next lane while trying to change lanes. The collision caused the pensioner’s car to skid.
Rescuers took the woman to hospital
The car then ended up on the sidewalk and struck an 83-year-old pedestrian. Vienna’s professional rescue service provided emergency medical care to the seriously injured woman and took her to hospital.
Numerous items damaged
Both drivers were uninjured. The accident caused damage to the two vehicles, but also to traffic signs, rubbish bins, two parked bicycles and a collection bin for used clothing.
