Ahmed A. is homeless, unemployed and has multiple criminal convictions. Now the Somali is on trial. He is said to have stabbed a fellow countryman on the street in Salzburg-Lehen.
He felt an incredible anger and ‘smelled blood’. Ahmed A. has not (yet) provided any further information to investigators and a psychologist. Next week, the Somali will have the opportunity to provide more detailed comments. The 27-year-old will appear before the Salzburg regional court from Tuesday. Ahmed A. is said to have murdered a compatriot in cold blood.
Achmed A. stabbed on the street
The “Krone” reported on the case several times: According to the prosecutor, Ahmed A. met an acquaintance in his apartment in Salzburg-Lehen on February 1, 2024. A. had only been released from prison a few weeks ago. The alcohol flowed and the action quickly moved to the open street. The unthinkable happened on Schießstattstrasse. Ahmed A. pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed his compatriot Hussin M. (34) several times. One stab in the head, one in the chest and one in the back – the Somali did not survive the attack.
Somali wanted to attack another victim
Another African saw what was happening and started screaming. Ahmed A. chased the man and only let go after some time. And: According to the Public Prosecution Service, Ahmed A. then went back to his victim and stabbed him in the back again. So hard that the handle broke off and the blade remained stuck in the body. A few hours later, the police arrested him. During interrogation, he attacked a bailiff. Days later, he attacked a guard again.
Toter was a “nice and helpful person”
The consternation in the Lehen district was enormous after the cold-blooded blood attack. “It’s so sad, Hussin had many children,” an acquaintance said in tears to the “Krone” at the time. And: “He was a nice and helpful person.”
Almost simultaneously, several Syrians engaged in a bloody fight in Lehener Park that night in February. Ten men appeared before the regional court last week, after which they were given suspended sentences.
