Minnesota’s governor has said that if Trump returns to the White House, “they will start raising costs for the middle class, repealing the health care law, gutting Social Security and banning abortion nationwide.”
Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz formally accepted the party’s vice presidential nomination for the November 5 U.S. presidential election at the Democratic Convention on Wednesday. It is the honor of my life “accept your nomination for Vice President of the United States,” he declared.
“First of all, thanks to the Vice President, (Kamala) Harris. Thank you for your trust in me and for inviting me to be part of this incredible campaign. And thanks to the President, Joe Bidenfor four years of solid and historic leadership,” he noted.
Walz has warned that “if these guys get back into the White House, they’re going to raise costs for the middle class, repeal the health care law, gut Social Security, and ban abortion across the country.”
During his speech he defended the freedom: “When Democrats talk about freedom, we mean achieving a better life for yourself and those you love, making your own health care decisions, and going to school without fear of being shot.”
“We have an opportunity to make Kamala Harris the next president of the United States. (…) This is how we will turn the page on Donald Trump. (…) This is how we will fight. And as the next president of the United States says, when we fight, we win,” the Minnesota governor concluded.
Walz’s intervention was led by a series of leaders from the old and new Democratic Guard, including former President Bill Clinton or the congressman Nancy Pelosi. The participation of the artist was also present during the evening Stevie Wonder or the charismatic presenter Oprah Winfrey.
