A surveillance camera shows the last meters of the first fatal victim, Franz Hofer from Upper Austria. Shortly afterwards he was allegedly shot by the suspect (56).
On Tuesday, more and more details became known about the insane act of Roland Drexler (56). In the afternoon, images from a company’s surveillance camera made the rounds – “MeinBezirk” first reported it online. Upon request, the manager also made the sequences available to “Krone”.
Was on my way to a pedicure
You see the last meters of Mayor Franz Hofer (64) – and how he is already being chased by his later suspected murderer. On Monday exactly at 8:20 am and 26 seconds, the local boss turned to the foot care institute in the town of Fraunschlag in Altenfelden – he would have often been a customer there.
Exactly half a minute later, Roland Drexler’s VW Caddy – with license plate RO 231 EL – appears on the surveillance video. About 100 yards later, the altercation broke out in the parking lot.
Hofer still wanted to escape
Franz Hofer wanted to escape, but then collapsed in a meadow after being fatally shot. The gunman got into his car and drove away – but must have been on a different road to his second victim. In any case, the hunter running amok does not appear a second time in the video recording.
But you see how 16 minutes later the first patrol car drives towards the institute with flashing lights. A short time later, the emergency doctor and rescue team arrived on site. As we now know, the hunter running amok was already working on his second victim at that time. Since then, there has been no trace of the hunter and officers have been unable to find his vehicle.
