They were trapped – Six police officers rescue Ukrainians from a waterfall

Dangerous adventures of a Ukrainian boy on the river Alm. He climbed a waterfall and suddenly got stuck. His rescuers were also in great trouble. But then the police came.

A 36-year-old and her son, a 12-year-old and other people, all Ukrainian citizens from the Wels-Land district, went on a swimming trip to the Alm River between Bad Wimsbach and Steinerkirchen on the afternoon of June 23, 2022. 4:30 pm the boy climbed over a waterfall near the bridge in Almegg.

Rescuers were also trapped
Not daring to go back, his mother and the 12-year-old came to his rescue. The result was that in the end all three people did not know what to do, because the river Alm carried a relatively large amount of water because of the rain and the current was accordingly strong. A hiker, a 20-year-old from the Wels-Land district, called the police with an emergency call.

Rescue with rope safety
Six officers from the Lambach Police Inspectorate came to the rescue of the detainees and were able to bring all three people to the shore unharmed with a safety rope.
